Large backpack bag. Harris Tweed & Leather rucksack handbag.
This rucksack started it life with me as a slightly tatty Harris tweed rucksack made by the British Belt Company. I purchased it recently online as it looked to be excellent quality. To give you an idea its original retail price was over £200.
Firstly the bag was deconstructed as the tweed was worn and some of the leather stitching frayed. I disgarded the tweed and also the lining which was damaged, keeping the leather bottom, trim and straps.
The Harris tweed was replaced with this green/brown autumnal colour. The lining created using grey linen. There is a drawstring inside housed in upholstery quality 100% cotton in green/grey colour. The drawstring is cord with a leather trim. There is also a leather trimmed zipped inside pocket.
The bag was reconstructed in its original design. All the leather was resewn by me with waxed cotton thread. All fabric and leather came from UK source.
It has a Harris tweed label.
It's possibly the perfect "man bag" although it would be fine for ladies too. Could be used for hiking, work (easily fits a laptop), even shopping.
It is large, robust and strong. I would guarantee it would carry 10kg with no problem.
